Matteo's is the tempting food offering at Annabel's. It's an Italian dining room that carries the club's trademark sense of style.

It opened following the club's relaunch at its new home of 46 Berkeley Square.

Matteo’s pays homage to the original Annabel’s through the interiors and atmosphere,” says Astrid Harbord, the club’s membership director.

Martin Brudnizki excellently achieved this in every detail, from the carpets to the soft furnishings and artwork.”

The famous buddha, which sat pride of place in the original club, was been reinstated as a hero piece in the restaurant.

Simply the best

With such discerning members, it is key for Annabel’s to honour its heritage while pushing the envelope for guests.

“Members are excited about the constant evolution of Annabel’s,” says Harbord.

“A  restaurant within the club always creates a buzz and excitement. We want to continue to be the best members’ club in the world.”

Electric atmosphere

Harbord says it is important to evolve “in ways that respect the history of Annabel’s”.

But there is also a need to “innovate and energise our offering to meet the demands of the modern-day member”.

The key aspects to the club are impeccable service together with “great food and drink and an electric and fun atmosphere”.

The menu includes iconic dishes such as clam linguine, meat ravioli with sage and rosemary jus and filet Milanese.

Wine and fizz

The impressive wine offering focuses exclusively on Italian regions – with the exception of its champagne selection.

“We largely focus on the regions of Piedmont and Tuscany, stocking the most iconic wines from producers in these areas,” says group head sommelier and wine buyer, Clement Robert MS.

Plus the wines are available in a variety of formats, vintages and cuvées.

Matteo’s boasts the world’s largest selection of Barolo and Sassicaia: “Extremely popular with our members,” says Robert.

Fizz aficionados will delight at the stunning collection of Dom Perignon vintages – the largest selection in the world.

“Dom Perignon is one of the only champagnes which, in my opinion, can be consumed in a relaxed capacity as an aperitif in addition to being paired with exceptional food,” says Robert.

With such an elevated offering for guests, it is clear that Annabel’s has one ambition.

“To have the highest quality and selection for our valued members,” says Harbord.

“We want them to feel like they are part of something special.”
