Celebrate the festive season with the Dorchester Collection in Paris
With the festive season in full swing, what better way to celebrate than with a trip to the City of Lights, and a visit to Dorchester Collectionâs Parisian properties â Hotel Plaza AthĂŠnĂŠe and Le Meurice?
Hotel Plaza AthĂŠnĂŠeâs âLa Cour Jardinâ has been transformed into a winter wonderland, bringing après ski to the heart of Paris.
âLe Chalet du Plaza AthĂŠnĂŠeâ is home to a new menu by chef Jean Imbert, featuring Savoyard specialities and classic fondue, which guests can enjoy post skate on the private ice rink, set up in front of the chalet.
This year, Plaza AthĂŠnĂŠeâs pastry chef Angelo Musa has crafted two festive desserts. Suspended above a forest of chocolate covered trees, a handmade cable car awaits to take passengers on a ride to âThe Mount Plazaâ.
Additionally, the Hazelnut Galette, a reverse puff pastry made entirely of hazelnuts, is a limited-edition festive treat made up of frangipane, hazelnut liqueur, and hazelnut biscuit.

Meanwhile, at Le Meurice, guests can indulge their sweet tooth with a trio of nostalgic desserts crafted by the hotelâs talented pastry chef, CĂŠdric Grolet. The âSweet Wrapperâ yuletide log is a modern take on the traditional Christmas dessert comprising a dark chocolate mousse that envelops a mandarin centre, a chocolate biscuit and a chocolate praline infused with Christmas spices.
Alternatively, the vanilla yuletide log is made up of vanilla praline, a creamy vanilla centre and vanilla mousse, and shaped to look like a vanilla pod.
The final of CĂŠdric Groletâs festive offerings at Le Meurice this year is the Hazelnut Twelfth-Night Cake. Having drawn inspiration from âIce Ageâ, the chef has conjured up a cake that is evocative of the iconic hazelnut featured in the movie. Comprised of a crisp puff pastry brioche that envelops a hazelnut cream, this dessert is the perfect Parisian treat with which to bring in the new year.
All of these desserts are available to buy.
