But the standout is the Michelin-starred La Faventia.
Divine amusebouches set the tone, while the asparagus dish turns a humble vegetable into a work of art.
Villas with a view
As for the villas, each manages to feel totally private.
Ours came complete with kitchen, living room, dining area and two bathrooms.
The highlight was the large terracotta-floored terrace, which has a gorgeous Jacuzzi and stunning valley views.
Do find time for the spa – it is sizeable and blissful.
Cycling and kids' activities
A new offering from the hotel is its Bike and Bites tour, an afternoon spent on electric bikes (it’s hilly).
Explore the stunning countryside, stopping off at local cheese makers, wine producers and olive oil purveyors to sample and learn.
A heavenly experience, you pass fig, orange and cherry trees and even sweet donkeys.
The resort is perfect as a romantic hideaway but also suits families.
There is a kids' club, an infinity swimming pool and there are tennis courts.
