Enjoy the understated elegance at Villa Marie in St Tropez.

This idyllic 5-star hotel on the French Riviera is set in beautiful gardens.

One of the highlights is the natural-looking swimming pool.

Overlooking Pampelonne Bay, the atmosphere here is serene.

Some of the bedrooms have romantic open bathrooms.

And the décor is charming.

Nooks are festooned with printed scatter cushions and there is a cactus-filled conservatory.

Irresistible cuisine

The hotel restaurant, Dolce Vita, is helmed by a new chef and the food experience is dreamy.

Set in a high-ceilinged conservatory, the restaurant is full of indoor greenery and bright orange crockery. There are also epic views of lush Mediterranean plants.

Breakfast is no less delightful, enjoyed on a pretty sun filled courtyard. Choose from an ample cold buffet alongside omelettes, waffles and eggs made to order.

Health spa or marina?

Next to the courtyard is the bijou, sea-themed spa.

Here you can enjoy an invigorating and relaxing massage involving hot oil, firm pressure and a blissful soundtrack.

Fancy watching the yachts St Tropez is famous for? Villa Marie offers a regular shuttle for the 10-minute journey into town.

Byblos Beach Ramatuelle is a new beach club run by the famed Hotel Byblos.

The restaurant is open on all four sides.

Nautical-themed in design, the ceiling is a billowing raffia canopy.

Arrive at midday and stay all afternoon, occupying a sun lounger on the restaurant’s gorgeous beach.

Then, when you wish, you can simply slip back to the quiet haven of Villa Marie.
