In celebration of its 150th season, Lake Como’s grande dame, Villa d’Este, is remaining open until January 3, 2023. A sparkling glasshouse has been commissioned to extend the hotel’s Veranda restaurant for guests to enjoy sweeping views of Lake Como, while remaining cosy indoors.
Against a background of magical decorations, floral arrangements and Christmas lights, which also illuminate the terraces and gardens, guests can enjoy a series of live music events, festive afternoon teas and other holiday experiences as well as exclusive menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve (dinner and dancing) and a decadent New Year’s Day brunch comprising a sweet and savoury buffet.
Travellers can also indulge in 500 festive panettones prepared by the hotel’s pastry chef. Cooking classes are available for guests with a penchant for baking who want to learn how to make the sweet Italian treat.
Rates start from around £888 for a double classic room per room per night, including breakfast.
