Hairdresser to the stars Hakim Elhocine has opened his eponymous flagship salon on Blenheim Street. Algeria-born Hakim qualified at 14 years old, having grown up in a family of hairdressers. After a chance meeting at the Monaco Grand Prix, Hakim quickly became Sir Elton John's personal stylist for seven years. Speaking about his time with the singer, Hakim said: “He was really, really nice to me.
He wrote a letter that helped to get my leave to remain in the UK. I still have the copy of the letter. He's the main reason I'm here.” The private atelier designed with oxblood lacquer, Calacatta Viola marble, Japanese wooden furniture and accents of gold is a one-stop shop for all your beauty needs, including nails, laser and aesthetics treatments as well as hair.

Previously on Baker Street, the move to Mayfair marks a turning point in his career. “I always wanted to be in Mayfair and I set that goal,” he said. “I said in five years I will make it to Mayfair and I did.”
