A new neighbourhood steakhouse has opened at
The Biltmore Mayfair

Prime cuts of beef take centre stage at Grill 88, a new steakhouse located within The Biltmore Mayfair hotel. Overlooking Grosvenor Square, the menu has been designed by executive chef Luis Campos and features cuts such as grain-fed Japanese A5 Kagoshima Black Breed Ribeye Wagyu, 100 dry-aged Lake District Sirloin and USDA Black Angus Prime.

Stored in Himalayan salt chambers and cooked on the Josper grill with specially-sourced charcoal, there are also large cuts made for sharing such as a full-blood Wagyu Chateaubriand, Tomahawk or a ‘Butcher’s Platter’ which sees the chef select three meats so you can experience the difference in the type of ageing and cut of the beef.

Raising the stakes even further, starters include a rich bone marrow dish with slow-cooked ox cheek and crispy shallots or there is an excellent house take on a classic beef tartare made with Devil’s sauce, black truffle and parmesan snow.

Seafood-lovers are well catered for too with dishes such as gratinated Orkney scallops and a pancetta and black olive crumb, bluefin tuna tataki with sesame and grilled native lobster with a curry hollandaise. For even more decadence – it is Mayfair after all – there are three types of caviar available too.

No-nonsense side dishes meanwhile include the French classic potato dauphinoise, Josper Grill Calcot onions, green beans with rose harissa, Padron peppers and of course, triple cooked chips with optional parmesan and truffle.

A signature cocktail list celebrates the Mayfair neighbourhood with the likes of ‘Grosvenor Affair’ served alongside all-time classics and don’t miss the chance to explore the excellent wine list;  you are in safe, highly knowledgeable hands with the brilliant head sommelier Jolanta Dinnadge.

Open Tuesdays to Sundays, 6pm until 10.30pm, 44 Grosvenor Square.
