A Capri celebrity favourite pops up at Hotel Eden Rome

Rome’s iconic Hotel Eden has welcomed a Capri institution, Paolino Capri, for a spring takeover. The hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Il Giardino, is hosting a pop-up from the famed Capri restaurant until May 15.

The menu showcases some of the most popular and colourful flavours from the glamorous island with a menu that includes Bluefin tuna tartare with a pistachio, lime, apple and celery salad and grilled octopus with chicory heart and lemon zest.

Pasta dishes include classics such as spaghetti alla Nerano and Caprese ravioli served with a Capri lemon sauce, while Paccheri ‘scarpariello’ is a dish created especially for the pop-up to highlight the fresh cherry tomatoes of Capri and the Pecorino cheese of Rome.

The Dorchester Collection restaurant has been transformed with lemon centerpieces and handcrafted ceramics from Capri. During the day, a three-course lunch menu is on offer and in the evening, there is the addition of a Caprese dessert buffet with the likes of Neapolitan sfogliatelle, chocolate profiteroles and Tiramisu. A special Sunday lunch is also available – ‘La Domenica Italiana’ – focusing on the region of Campania and runs until May 28.

Launched in the 1970s, Paolino has been a celebrity favourite – entertaining designers, actors and politicians – and is now run by the founder’s grandchildren, Michela and Arianna with their uncle, Michele.
