To coincide with London Fashion Week, Claridge's ArtSpace will exhibit celebrity photographer Gavin Bond's unseen archive imagery from the early 90s’ fashion scene in a specially-curated 4-D showcase. The Gavin Bond: Being There Showcase – a collaboration between Moët & Chandon and Claridge’s – will present photography of standout fashion moments featuring designers from Yves Saint Laurent and Jean Paul Gaultier, to Valentino and Versace, and the supermodels of the era – from Kate and Naomi to Claudia and Carla.

This photography, rediscovered by Bond in lockdown, showcases large-scale vinyls of the shots, plus displays of Bond's many scrapbooks, collections of 90s’ headline catwalk show invitations and video footage from the era.

Magical scenes from intimate portraits of Vivienne Westwood to Kristen McMenamy quaffing Moët & Chandon backstage at John Galliano will be displayed, as well as imagery documenting the supermodels of the era and their memorable sisterhood.

Claridge’s unveiled the Claridge’s ArtSpace in October 2021 as part of its long and ongoing commitment to the arts and invites long-standing friends and gallerists within the art world to stage rotating exhibitions and shows. Gavin Bond: Being There Showcase presented by Moët & Chandon and Claridge’s will be the space's fourth exhibit.

“Moët & Chandon was very present behind the scenes in the London fashion scene in the early 90s. It seemed that a bottle of this famed champagne, especially Moët Minis sipped with a straw by the models, was de rigueur,” says Bond.

Gavin Bond: Being There Showcase presented by Moët & Chandon and Claridge’s will open from September 15-29 2022, 10am-6pm, with free access to all.

Claridge’s ArtSpace is located on Brook’s Mews, London W1K 4DZ.
