Discover a new modern British tavern at the north end of Regent Street, with a food and drink offering from some of London’s most respected names.

The Wigmore, located next to The Langham hotel, is housed in a former banking hall updated by internationally acclaimed interior architects Martin Brudnizki Design Studio – whose work can be seen at Sexy Fish, The Ivy and Aquavit among others. The space retains the room’s listed panelling, offering a glimpse into the building’s past life, while incorporating heritage inspired, contemporary design elements such as furniture in mohair velvet and silk cushioning; a timber bar with fabric panelling; and turned wooden chairs – with a striking green colour palette adding a hint of vaudevillian London to the space.

The drinks list features cocktails from the team behind The Langham’s bar, Artesian – considered to be one of the capital’s best – which evoke London’s drinking history with cups of punch; as well as cask ales, specially-created craft beers brewed in partnership with Bermondsey’s Brew by Numbers and a carefully-curated menu of wines.

Legendary chef Michel Roux Jr of Le Gavroche and Masterchef oversees the food menu, which uses seasonal produce from the country’s best producers to serve up poshed up pub bites, including masala spiced scotch eggs with daal relish and stovetop cheese toasties; while heartier options include the likes of Balvenie whisky smoked salmon (made exclusively for the Roux family), honey pickled onions and Wooster’s bakery sprouted rye; ox cheek and ale pie with suet crust; and paprika glazed shortrib, bone marrow and thyme crumb.
