Fashion, jewellery and homeware made by Royal College of Arts graduates goes on sale in a pop-up shop this month.
In the first venture of its kind, designs by 16 start-ups all created by RCA alumni, will be on sale in Belgravia.
Customers will be able to browse men’s and women’s fashion and footwear, textiles, sculpture, ceramics and glass.
The graduates behind these start-up companies have been benefiting from Innovation RCA. This is the Royal College of Art’s centre for entrepreneurship, based in Battersea.
They have been taking part in a new six month programme – InnovationRCA Creative Brand Accelerator – gaining business mentoring, commercial training and advice.
This has included workshops covering product range development, sales and marketing, brand strategy and digital media.
The venue for the pop-up shop – 50m, Ecclestone Yard, Belgravia – specialises in contemporary fashion and works to support new designers.
In the past decade, InnovationRCA has helped 75 graduates launch 50 starts-up. These have attracted £39 million in funding from investors and created more than 600 jobs.
The centre’s aim is to assist students and graduates transform compelling ideas into successful businesses.
The pop-up shop will be open from June 11th-21st. Hours are: Tuesday to Saturday 11.00-19.00. Sunday 12.00-18.00.
