Celebrate central London’s rich written heritage this autumn
Explore the literary culture of London’s varied communities at our festival starting late October.
Join us as we spotlight writers from across the globe in our second annual celebration of the written word.
From great poetry read by great actors, to literary events in unexpected places and even a short film season, we’ll be spanning a wide range of styles and subjects.
Participants at last year’s inaugural festival included a host of performers and writers including Felicity Kendal, Simon Callow and Sir Bob Geldof (pictured above left to right).
This year’s festival, running from October 28th to November 3rd, will include at least 25 events.
Publishing Business, the company which produces Mayfair Times, will be working with major retailers, restaurants and hotels to put on literary events in spaces not always associated with cultural activity.
We will once again be partnering with The Josephine Hart Poetry Hour to bring poetry read by well-known actors to Mayfair and St James’s.
A short film season will run at the Regent Street Cinema. Each of the three films will feature a Question and Answer session afterwards with a leading actor or the film’s director.
We will also be collaborating with several local embassies to showcase the literary heritage and figures of their own home nations.
